Pavement Ants

Pavement ants are small (⅛ – ⅙ in.) and slow moving. They are a blackish-brown color with paler legs and antennae, have parallel grooves along their head and thorax, and are covered with small hairs.

Interesting Pavement Ant Facts

– Pavement Ant nests are typically found outside under stones, next to buildings, and under pavement cracks.
– Their nests are also occasionally found in walls, under floors, and in insulation.
– They can especially invade slab built homes because they can easily navigate cracks in the slab and other similar openings.

Problems Caused by Pavement Ant Pests

Pavement ants enter homes in search for greasy and sweet foods and will contaminate the food sources they find.
