How to Identify a Mouse Infestation?
A few ways you can tell if you have a mouse infestation is you will see mice droppings and bite marks on cardboard, plastic, and even furniture. You will find mouse tracks around your place. You will also be able to smell a musky odor. If you are seeing any of these signs there is a chance you have mice somewhere close by.
Can You Get Diseases from Mice?
Mice carry a lot of diseases and not just diseases that you can get from touching them. Though if you touch them, mice can carry ticks on them that can transfer over to you and ticks bring on their own types of diseases. If they bite or scratch you then you could end up getting rat fever. Mice can carry diseases through their feces and urine. Even if you aren’t seeing the mice but seeing droppings they can be carrying diseases such as salmonella, and lymphocytic choriomeningitis, and hantavirus. To help prevent mice from sharing your home, make sure you clean up. If they don’t have a place to nest or eat, then they will move on to another home. Keep your trees and bushes that hang over your home cut back. Pick up any clutter you have outside or inside. Seal up your home, meaning any cracks or holes, and make sure they are fixed so that the mice can’t get inside to keep warm. Make sure you don’t leave food out where they can get it. If you have mice already you can set traps with bait to help get rid of them also.
